What is worth knowing about Chhattisgarh
The Act is still on the statute book with a live rate schedule, but a 2011 notification exempts every person from all of its provisions, so no employer in Chhattisgarh deducts professional tax. We encode the effect, not the paper. Resolved and regraded low→high on 9 August 2026 (T-015): the notification itself — signed by the Principal Secretary, Commercial Tax Department, and dated 31 March 2011 — was read in full on the department's own site, where it is listed against the Professional Tax Act. It carries no end date and we found nothing rescinding it. The department's notification archive stops in 2013, so a later rescission would not appear there; that is the one thing we still cannot rule out.
The cap every state is under
Article 276(2), Constitution of India limits professional tax to ₹2,500 a person a year, whatever a state’s own schedule says. Several states are written to land exactly on it — that is why Karnataka and Maharashtra charge a different amount in one month of the year, and why an annual total on this page never exceeds ₹2,500.
Where this comes from
Statute: Chhattisgarh Vritti Kar Adhiniyam, 1995 (No. 16 of 1995) — every person exempted from the operation of all provisions of the Act under section 6, by Notification F-10/22/2011/CT/V(22) dated 31 March 2011, w.e.f. 1 April 2011

Your actual take-home
Professional tax is a line on most Indian payslips, and in Chhattisgarh it is not one of them. What decides your take-home here is everything else: income tax, EPF, gratuity. Our CTC to in-hand calculator, opened on Chhattisgarh, deducts nothing here — which is the whole finding of this page — computes the rest under the Income-tax Act 2025, and shows the working for every line. Put your own CTC in it and read the figure rather than the rate.
Which leaves income tax as the line that decides it — and the thing that moves income tax most is the regime you are taxed under. That choice is yours to make rather than your state’s, so compare both regimes on Chhattisgarh figures — it computes each one and says which pays less tax on the numbers you enter, and nothing beyond that.
