We are a calculator, not an adviser

SahiSalary computes estimates from published law. It does not know your full financial position, and nothing on this site is tax advice, financial advice, investment advice or legal advice. For a decision that matters — a job offer, a regime election, a filing — talk to a chartered accountant or a registered adviser who can see everything we cannot.

What the numbers cover

The calculators are encoded for salary income under the Income-tax Act 2025 for financial year 2026-27, together with the Code on Wages 2019, the Code on Social Security 2020, the EPF & MP Act 1952, and each state’s own professional-tax schedule. Two of those overlap on purpose: gratuity moved to the Code on Social Security when it repealed the Payment of Gratuity Act 1972 on 21 November 2025, while the same commencement notification left the EPF & MP Act 1952 in force, so provident-fund contributions are still cited to it. The gratuity and EPF calculator sets out that reading and the government document that disagrees with it. They do not model capital gains, house-property income, business or professional income, foreign income, perquisites beyond the ones we name, or anything your employer does that is specific to your employer. Your payslip is the authority on your payslip. We are a very good second opinion.

Where we know we are incomplete

Every gap we know about is written down on the methodology page: both the states whose professional-tax schedule we have not published at all, and the states we do publish from secondary sources because no official schedule was reachable. Each is named there with the reason. That list is generated from the dataset’s own confidence grades rather than typed out by hand, so it cannot quietly fall behind what we actually know. If a page says a number is not published yet, that is the honest state of our research, not a bug.

Law changes, and sometimes we are late

Rates move. States repeal levies — Odisha abolished professional tax with effect from 1 April 2026, and most payroll systems have still not caught up. Every dataset here carries the date a human last read its source, and that date is printed on the page rather than hidden in a commit. If the date looks stale to you, it probably is; treat it as the caveat it is meant to be.

If a number is wrong, tell us

On a money site, corrections are the product. If a figure here does not match what you can show from statute or from your own payslip, we want to know — write to hello@sahisalary.in and we will fix it and say what changed. Until then: check anything important against your payslip, your Form 16 and the Income Tax Department’s own portal.

No relationship, no warranty

Using this site does not create a professional relationship between you and us. The site is provided as it is, free, with no warranty that it is accurate, complete or fit for any particular purpose, and we are not liable for a decision taken on the strength of a number you read here. That is the standard limitation and we would rather state it plainly than bury it. It does not reduce how seriously we take being right.

It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Government of India, the Income Tax Department, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, any state commercial-tax department, or any employer.
